Social Practice [art]

Social practice defines an art form that seeks engagement with its audience. It is participatory. Artists and critics have also called it participatory art, public practice art, socially engaged art,  and interventionist art.  Perhaps best know among popular programs in the US are the Social Practice degree at California College of the Arts and Otis’s program on Public Practice directed by Suzanne Lacy.
