Teresa Margolles, Mexican,

In 2004 Margolles exhibited three installations that called attention to the innocent victims of drug violence in Mexico. She went to the morgue and collected the water used to wash the bodies of women, children, and others whose lives were claimed by drug cartel violence.  She creates bubbles and vapors from that water that fills the Museum gallery. From the bloody water that washed the bodies of violently killed corpses she dipped paper into the water. bubbles[1].jpg
